How to use Google Forms

Before you start using Google forms please be aware of the following limitations:
  • You cannot accept payments through Google Forms
  • The options for managing this form are limited and suited for smaller events. If you are running a larger event consider using Eventbrite.

Step 1. Signing in

Go to: https://docs.google.com/forms/

You will need to sign in to your Google account (same as Gmail). If you do not have a Google account create one here.

Step 2. Build your form

Give your form a title and start building your form. To determine which questions your need to add to your form differs a lot depending on what type of event you run.

Please refer to the ‘Admin Resources’ section in the Partner Portal for more information. We have set up a number of templates including ‘A’ and ‘B’ form templates which you can use to build your forms.

There are a number of different types of questions to choose from. As a general rule of thumb, it is a good idea to give people options to choose from (multiple choice).

To add new questions you can duplicate an existing one:

Or add a new question:

As you are building your form, test often. You can also use the preview button at the top to quickly see what your form looks like for the user:

Step 3. Settings

There are a number of settings for your form. You can explore the options and choose as you see fit. Below are a number of suggested settings that we have found helpful:

Turn on ‘Collect Emails’

This will be helpful for you to correspond with the people signing up for your event.

Add a custom confirmation message

Step 4. Monitoring registrations

Under the ‘Responses’ tab you can monitor and manage registrations that have come in through your form:

You can delete form entries under the individual tab (which is helpful when you have tested the form yourself a number of times):

When you want to close registrations you do not have to delete your form. You can disable the form by turning off ‘Accepting responses’:

How to use Eventbrite
